ComicBook.com has an exclusive preview of Genndy Tartakovsky’s second issue of the much-delayed Cage!, and it shows Cage in an unlikely retreating position. Of course, he does get to inflict some punishment along the way, but you almost feel worse for the poor snake that took a bit out of the wrong guy.
RIP little snake, RIP.
Tartakovsky is known for several series, most of all Samurai Jack, but he’s been wanting a chance to take on some of Marvel’s heroes for quite some time.
“I grew up following most of the major titles like Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Avengers, etc,” Tartakovsky tells Birth.Movies.Death. “But I had also a lot of love for the smaller titles like Master of Kung Fu, Black Panther, The Defenders, Inhumans, and of course Power-Man and Iron Fist. I always liked the martial art aspect of Iron Fist with the raw street energy of Cage. I saw it in my head like Bruce Lee and Shaft hanging out together. And Cage was fun, I liked the idea of a down and out hero scrapping for work, love, and just trying to survive.”
You can view the official description below for Cage! #2, and make sure to catch the exclusive preview in the gallery.
TRAPPED in the jungle a thousand miles from home, HUNTED by savage beasts that walk like men, Luke’s got just one thing going for him: Ain’t no cage that can hold Cage!

He’s CAGE! and he’ll save your behind. Dig it!
