The newest Doctor Strange Annual will feature a special variant cover from fan-favorite Skottie Young, who’s charming and often times rather adorable renditions of marvel characters have become quite popular.

For his latest work, Young presents a formidable looking Stephen Strange, with magical axe and Eye of Agamotto in hand to make someone else’s day not so festive. It makes sense that he would be upset, as in recent weeks the good doctor has been fighting against the extinction of magic itself, thanks to the Empirikul’s vengeance driven quest to extinguish not only magic but every user of it as well.

Unfortunately for Strange, it doesn’t appear he will be getting any sort of reprieve, as the latest Annual brings his ex Clea back into the fold, and it doesn’t seem she’s in any mood to offer a sympathetic ear. She’s catching Strange at his most vulnerable, but her intentions aren’t the only focus of the new book, as it will also introduce the Sorcerers Supreme.

The book is being written by Kathryn Immonen and drawn by Robbie Thompson, and will hit comic stores on September 28th. You can view the variant cover as well as the regular cover by Leonardo Romero and Scott Forbes in the gallery.
