Characters can do some amazing things within the pages of a comic book, and one of the medium’s strengths is that you don’t have to be conservative about using bold colors, heightened styles, and epic action poses when creating a visual piece.

The art of Kudoze, real name Ali Solomon, perfectly represents that mantra. His art is beautifully stylized, with vivid colors everywhere and wonderfully expressive faces on all of his characters. Every one of his pieces feels like it was a snapshot taken at the perfect time in the midst of some epic battle, and he isn’t afraid to switch up his portrait style either.

Take for example the Avatar Battle, which places Aang against Korra in an Avatar The Last Airbender fighting game. There’s also The Lil Dark Side, which features two Stormtroopers, Boba Fett, Darth Maul, and of course, Darth Vader looking a bit more fashionable and aggressive than you’re used to seeing them. Also, it should be noted that even with that absurdly large scope, that left Stormtrooper is probably never going to hit a thing.

When he does go for straight up portraits, he still likes to have fun with them, like the action-packed Antman Finale or the cinematically angled Darth Vader piece. One of his best is the “Feeling Lucky” Thanos, though the Darth Vader and Kids piece is hilarious.

Just for kicks Kudoze also features a few comic-like panels such as the Ultimate Deadpooly. Deadpool is seen in a few comedic situations, like his famous pancake gorge, a Dragonball Z inspired battle scene and his epic stealing of Hulk’s big purple pants. He even bought some of those Avengers Hulk plush fists, because if Deadpool’s anything it’s a stickler for authenticity.

You can check out more of his work on Deviant Art, Instagram, and Behance, and you can also see a few examples of his fantastic work in the gallery.
