Actor Chris Sullivan revealed yesterday that he is officially part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but his character is something out of deep cuts indeed.

Sullivan confirmed on his Twitter that he will be playing Taserface in the upcoming blockbuster by Marvel Studios, who is one of the older enemies of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Take a look.

Created in 1990, Taserface, who took the more sinister name of Overkill later on in his supervillain career, is an alien member of the Stark race, but it's unclear of how much they'll actually keep around in the MCU, especially details of his weaponized hands. Sullivan is primarily known for his roles in Cinemax's The Knick, as well as NBC's This Is Us. Director James Gunn explained why Taserface is in the movie by stating that he tried to bring him in the first Guardians movie, but he couldn't make it work and the concept was laughed at. However, this time around, he wanted to embrace more of the obscure and even idiotic characters in the Marvel library. "I think in this movie, we have the head of the Ravagers as a real dumbass. A very powerful guy. I decided he named himself and called himself Taserface."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5, 2017.
