Attendees at NYCC will be able to get their hands on this new collection ahead of its full launch. The pop culture company will debut their collection of female superhero clothing at a Hot Topic/Her Universe pop-up store in the Javits Center in New York City. The line will then go live at select Hot Topic locations and online at their website later this month.

The stunning collection will feature dresses based on Captain Marvel, Black Widow, and Agent Carter. Scarlet Witch and Spider-Gwen are getting a pantsuit ensemble fitting for any fan. Some fans may remember the Spider-Gwen jacket from San Diego Comic Con as designer Lindsay Hamilton competed in the 2015 Her Universe Fashion Show with the article.

“We fell in love with Lindsay Hamilton’s Spider-Gwen design from the 2015 Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic-Con,” said Ashley Eckstein, founder of Her Universe. “While she did not win the competition, Hot Topic loved her jacket so much that they asked if they could buy her design to sell in stores! It was truly a pleasure to work with Lindsay to bring her jacket to retail. It’s gorgeous!”

As for their decision to use female superhero designs, Her Universe says their choice was based on their fans vocal desire to flaunt some feminine super-threads.

“We have had many, many requests from customers for a fashion collection based on powerful female Super Heroes, so we are thrilled to partner with Marvel and Her Universe on this outstanding offering of dresses and outerwear,” said Cindy Levitt, Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing at Hot Topic. “I can’t wait to get the 1940’s inspired Agent Carter dress myself!”

Of course, this isn’t the first Marvel line-up that Her Universe has created for Hot Topic. The clothing company created a fashion collection back in 2015 which featured designs based on Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Loki, and Thor. The casual cosplay pieces were available at either Hot Topic or Torrid and ranged in sizes from XS – 3X at various locations.

Her Universe, which launched in 2009, has become a go-to destination for girls interested in casual cosplay. The brand contains all kinds of wardrobe pieces inspired by series such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Transformers, Marvel and more.
