The War Machine

These fans rightly point out that Cable seems more prepared for war than just about any other superhero (or action movie character) in recent memory.

Sure, the character has always been drawn as having more pouches than Batman’s utility belt, but still…

As always, the real question is: how do fans feel about this version of the character?

So far, it seems that the X-Men fanbase is digging what Deadpool 2 is doing with Cable – more so than the divide in opinion over the recent reveal of actress Zazie Beetz’s Domino.

The Slow-Burners

Some people need time to get used to something new. This version of Cable may not be what every X-Men fan had imagined, but it’s a testament to the filmmakers’ design that it’s gaining respect even with fans who may be initially skeptical.

The Happy People

In the end, some fans are entirely happy with how Deadpool 2 is interpreting the two pivotal X-Force characters, Cable and Domino.

The movie’s tonal approach to the characters, and the actors’ respective performances remain to be seen, but as far as looks go, Deadpool 2 is off to a good start.
