But while we’ve seen many of the heroic characters shooting scenes on location, we’ve yet to see or hear about the movie’s big bad.
Thanos is set on a collision course with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in his attempts to obtain all six Infinity Stones, finally getting his hands dirty after manipulating events behind the scenes. Actor Josh Brolin was cast as the character and made his first appearance in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Now Brolin is getting involved on the production of Avengers: Infinity War, as indicated by a photograph he posted to his personal Instagram account.

Brolin is getting ready for a motion capture performance. Given that Thanos‘ stature is huge and more comparable to the Hulk’s than any other Avengers, there will be a lot of post-production work to make the character a fitting villain for the screen.
It’s considerably the most work Brolin will have in a Marvel Studios movie to date, especially since his other appearances were simple cameos.โจโจMost interesting, however, is Brolin’s humorous use of hashtagsโespecially that last one. “im just an average purple guy looking for love” could hint at the character’s motivation in the movie being close to his comic book counterpart.
The Russos have already hinted Thanos would be true to the source material. Perhaps instead of simple universal dominationโas hinted in the synopsisโThanos truly just wants to embrace the physical embodiment of Death.
Weirder things have happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Remember, Stan Lee was chatting with the Watchers, after all.
