Josh Brolin may be busy representing the Marvel Cinematic Universe this weekend, but that doesn’t mean the actor has forgotten his place with Deadpool. Brolin has already been tapped to play Cable for the mouthy mercenary’s sequel, and fans were reminded of his gig yesterday when Brolin showed up at D23.

The actor attended Disney’s annual event to plug his part as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. The massive blockbuster got plenty of coverage at the pop culture convention, but Brolin was sporting a look that had plenty of fans thinking about Cable. During his one-on-one interviews, Brolin was able to show off a rather unique eyebrow style which has fans convinced the actor has already started work on Deadpool 2.

As you can see in the picture below, one of Brolin’s eyebrows has cut down the center. The large gap rests right about the actor’s pupil, and X-Men fans will recognize the scar easily. After all, Cable sports an eyebrow gap just like this throughout the comics. The time-traveling mutant has an eyebrow cut thanks to some heavy scarring over his right eye as his left is total cybernetic. Since Brolin has his eyebrow shaved, the look implies the actor is probably donning the gap to help Deadpool 2‘s makeup artists apply Cable’s scars.

So far, no set photos or videos of Brolin have leaked from Deadpool 2, but they will emerge sooner or later. Ryan Reynolds has made a point to share pictures of the sequel with fans now that production is underway, so the Deadpool actor may snap a selfie with Brolin when the latter is in full costume. Fans are eager to see how Brolin looks as Cable given the mutant’s overwhelming popularity, and the actor has shown he’s capable of playing rough roles. There’s little doubt Brolin will pull off Cable’s cybernetic look with ease, but still; Fans will have their minds blown when they get their first-look at the actor in all his X-Men costumed glory.

David Leitch will direct the sequel, taking over for original Deadpool director Tim Miller. Fox is reportedly aiming for a June start of production in Vancouver. Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth. For the sequel, he’ll be joined by Josh Brolin as Cable. Cable was co-created by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld and Louise Simonson. He has often been paired with Deadpool as his grim, serious demeanor serves as the perfect foil to Deadpool’s crude and zany humor. The duo headlined an ongoing comic book series, Cable & Deadpool, for 50 issues.

Atlanta star Zazie Beetz has also been cast in Deadpool 2. She will play Domino, a mutant with probability manipulation abilities that endows her with improbably good luck. In the Marvel Comics Universe, Domino was a member of Cable’s mercenary crew, Six Pack, and one of his early love interests.
