Logan came to theaters last weekend, and audiences and critics alike can’t stop talking about it. Logan has made over $100 million at the box office in less than a week has an 88.55 ComicBook Composite Score, the second highest ComicBook composite of all comic book movies, and a 4.71 out of 5 ComicBook User Rating, making it the highest ranked comic book movie among ComicBook.com readers.
Director James Mangold helped make Hugh Jackman’s final performance as Wolverine one that fans won’t forget anytime soon, not to mention Patrick Stewart’s final turn as Professor X and Dafne Keen’s debut as X-23

But if that’s the final Wolverine movie, what is a fan to do next? Stay calm, true believer. Wolverine has a long history as part of the Marvel Universe and there are plenty of comics that can give you an extra dose of whatever it is you loved most about Logan.

X-Men: Original Sin
If you loved the family drama with Wolverine, Professor X, and Laura in Logan, then you should probably be interested in X-Men: Original sin, a 2009 crossover story from writers Mike Carey and Daniel Way and artists Scott Eaton and Mike Deodato.
At the time that this story takes place, Professor X is still trying to recover his memories after near-fatal shot to the head. Meanwhile, Wolverine only recently discovered that he has a son, Daken, who is becoming a slave to the feral rages that Wolverine himself has struggled with throughout his life.
Wolverine seeks out Professor X in the hopes that Xavier will help repair Daken’s psyche the same he helped Logan. Professor X refuses and Wolverine is forced to remind Professor X of how he once helped Logan despite the fact that Wolverine was sent to the X-Mansion on a mission to kill Xavier, and Xavier knew it from the start.
Throw in the Hellfire Club and Miss (yes, Miss) Sinister as villains, and you’ve got a dark Wolverine family drama.
X-Force (Vol. 3)
Is it the flair for claws-out ultraviolence that you loved most about Logan, then the Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle-written X-Force series than ran from 2008-2010 may be the perfect comic to satiate your bloodlust.
This version of X-Force launched during an era when mutants were dwindling in numbers and nearing extinction. Cyclops decided the X-Men needed a wet works squad that could proactively eliminate threats using the kind of lethal force that the X-Men couldn’t.
Wolverine led the squad and X-23 was among the first to join. The team also featured Warpath, who was played by Booboo Stewart in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Wolfsbane, who will appear in The New Mutants movie.
Be warned that X-Force is dark, and not just because of the violence. The mutants on this X-Force squad go to some dark places and not many of them come out unscathed.
Death Of Wolverine

Death of Wolverine takes place after a virus from the microverse burns out Wolverine’s mutant healing factor. That means that for the first maybe ever, Wolverine is just as killable as anyone else.
That’s an opportunity that Logan’s enemies can’t pass up, and Logan has made a lot of enemies over his long life. The end result is right there in the title, which means this story is all about watching Wolverine go out while doing what he does best.

All-New Wolverine
What happens to Laura after Logan falls? She steps up to fill in her father’s shoes.
Written by Tom Taylor, All-New Wolverine takes place roughly eight months after Wolverine’s death, and X-23 has taken over as the best she is at what she does.
The first arc of All-New Wolverine reveals that Laura has some clone “sisters” of her own. A later arc serves as a spiritual successor to the fan favorite Wolverine: Enemy of the State storyline. There’s also some fun guest appearances by Spider-Gwen and Squirrel Girl, who brings with the scene-stealing Jonathan the actual wolverine.
Laura Kinney has proven to be a more than worthy heir to the Wolverine mantle, but if you’re still not convinced, check out these five reasons you should be reading All-New Wolverine.
Old Man Logan (Ongoing Series)
The grizzled old, weathered and aged version of Wolverine lives on in the Old Man Logan ongoing series by writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino.
This Old Man Logan series sees a version of Wolverine inspired by the original “Old Man Logan” storyline landing in the Earth-616 universe after his own timeline is destroyed.
This Logan has to come to terms with a new and unfamiliar world where the villain uprising hasn’t happened…yet. The first story arc sees Logan coming to terms with the idea that maybe his new universe isn’t on the same dark path as his old universe.
As the series progresses, Old Man Logan reestablishes relationships with those who knew and cared about the Wolverine of Earth-616, who were all long dead in his own world, and later storyline show flashes of Logan’s old life in the Wasteland.
If the version of Wolverine from Logan is what you crave, Old Man Logan is your new favorite comic.
