Unless you’ve been hiding in a bunker lately, then you know that election fever is hitting an all-time in America. The presidential election will come to a climax when the nation votes for its next leader, and Marvel wants to make sure its readers head to the poll. The publisher is using one of its most popular heroines to encourage fans to vote in the election, and Ms. Marvel won’t take no for an answer.
Earlier today, Marvel Comic debuted an exclusive look at Ms. Marvel #13. Written by G. Willow Wilson, the issue will follow Kamala Khan as she sets out to remind everyone of their own super power: the right to vote. Ms. Marvel will take to the streets of her hometown, Jersey City, and get its citizens to the polls.

In the sneak-peek panels, readers can see that Ms. Marvel has quite a fight ahead of her. The heroine runs into voters who cannot – or simply won’t – vote because of various reasons. From long poll lines to busy work schedules, Ms. Marvel finds a solution for these people. Once the girl has had enough, she teaches her friends and readers about voting laws and why it is important to exercise their civil liberties.
This isn’t the first time Ms. Marvel has gotten political in the past. Earlier this year, the heroine unofficially commented on Trump’s negative views of Muslims when Matt Stefani used Ms. Marvel to recreate an iconic Captain America cover. The artist drew a mock Ms. Marvel cover which mirrored that of Captain America Comics #1 a la 1941 which shows her punching Trump in the face. You know, kind of like how Cap swung at Adolf Hitler way back when.
In fact, Ms. Marvel has been connected to other vigilante campaigns which undermine Islamophobic bigots. Earlier this year, the heroine fought back against Islamophobic bus ads when fans overlaid them with Ms. Marvel graffiti. The fan-made images blocked out the ads funded by the activist group Freedom Defence Initiative, an organization classified as a hate group.
