Ever since the first trailer was released, it was made clear that The New Mutants would be unlike any other X-Men film to-date. The latest still from the movie goes even further to prove that point.

In the new photo, which was released by USA Today, something terrible has happened to Mirage (Blu Hunt). In the chilling halls of the psychiatric hospital where the film takes place, the character is laying on the floor, completely unconscious.

Tending to Mirage’s ailment are three other members of the New Mutants roster. Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams) and Cannonball (Charlie Heaton) are holding their friend in their arms while Sunspot (Henry Zaga) gets ready for action. Not far away, Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy) watches her peers.

Unfortunately for these young Mutants, Mirage being unconscious likely means more trouble for them. See, in the New Mutants comics, Mirage was able to harness the power of her mind project the fears of others. When she would sleep, and have nightmares, the darkness that haunted her would find a way to affect her reality as well.

The New Mutants will need to escape the terrors of the hospital when the film hits theaters on April 13, 2018.
