Spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming follow! The Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures film is now playing in theaters worldwide.
Peter Parker is making one of the toughest choices any teenager can face in his new Spider-Man: Homecoming film. The young Marvel hero is faced with either trying to get the girl or being a super hero because, most of the time, both is not an option.

In one scenario during the film, being the super hero almost lead to getting the girl as he rescued his crush and friends from an imminent doom in an elevator at the Washington Monument. Just as he pulled Liz Allen to safety, the voice in his suit encouraged Peter to make the move on her and get a kiss. Peter certainly considered it, as he hung upside down in the elevator shaft, contemplating a kiss which would have matched the unforgettable moment between Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker and Kirsten Dunce’s Mary Jane in the original Spider-Man trilogy.
Such a moment, however, would never come to be and for Liz Allen actress Laura Harrier, it never crossed her mind. “I didn’t think we were going to kiss in [that scene] because I would’ve fallen to my death,” Harrier said. “If that happened, I don’t think that what was going through Liz’s mind. It was like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m alive.’”
As it would turn out, Peter Parker would never actually get that kiss from Liz before she was shipped off to Oregon by the powers that be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as to avoid being witness to her father’s trial. Kissing scenes, however, did happen on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming but did not make the final cut of the film. “We did a lot of different kissing scenes and none of them are in the movie now. I don’t know. It’s an interesting choice,” Harrier said. “We didn’t know what they were going to choose, because we had all these different options of a Spider-Man kiss and then there’s none.”
