Spider-Man: Homecoming Before And After Shows How Far The CG Effects Have Come

Last week, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios released a new still image from Spider-Man: Homecoming showing Spider-Man trying to save the broken ferry boat. That scene also was shown in the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer, allowing for a change to see just how far the special effects have come in the intervening months.

Kieran Jones on Twitter actually put the two images side by side, with the trailer image on top and the new still on the bottom. When seen like that, the new image shows the ferry in much more depth and gives Spider-Man himself much more detail and a much better-defined anatomy.

Tom Holland has been spotted filming recently. A set video appeared online last week. It is unclear what he is filming, though it may have something to do with his scene involving DJ Khaled and Stan Lee for a “top secret” Marvel movie.

Filming for Spider-Man: Homecoming began in June 2016 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Georgia. There were also on location shoots in an Atlanta high school, a hotel, and Atlanta’s West End. Some filming did take place in New York City, where the film wrapped production in October 2016.

Holland will also reprise his role as Spider-Man for Avengers: Infinity War, which releases in 2018 and will include Spider-Man, the Avengers, and the Guardians of the Galaxy coming together to battle Thanos. A sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is already in the planning. Holland is expected to reprise his role again in the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War.
