Tom Holland is one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming actors, and his appetite for action can’t be filled. The star plays Spider-Man in the MCU, but Holland is interested in expanding his superhero horizons. Thanks to a new ‘audition’ tape of Holland, fans can watch the British actor give Batman an honest go. Well, sort of.

Not long ago, MTV shared a video which Holland did with After Hours host Josh Horowitz. The personality is seen asking the Spider-Man star about his audition process for Marvel, and the actor goes off on a gag-filled romp. Holland shares several fake audition tapes to pad out the interview, and one of them sees him play Bruce Wayne.

In the video above, fans can watch as Holland is fed lines from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The actor comes into one frame donning a cheesy Batman mask and growls. “With great power comes great responsibility!”

Clearly, Holland has been practicing his Batman voice.

When an assistant tells Holland that Batman isn’t even in the MCU, he goes on the defensive. “Yes, it is. You’re wrong; It is. There’s been crossovers, there has. I’ve seen them.”

Holland refuses to break character for even a second, even when he is told he is not in fact Batman. The actor just brushes off the accusation. He gives his assistant a blank look before pointing at his costume cowl as if that explains everything.

Following the audition reel, the interview resumes as Horowitz stares at Holland dumbly. The host tells the actor he is terrible at auditioning, and that does not sit will with Holland – erm – Batman?

“Shut up or I’ll break you,” Holland tells Horowitz after the host insults his tapes. “I was born in the darkness. I don’t like this. You’re making me uncomfortable. Alfred!”

Clearly, the ‘secret’ audition tapes are meant to be a gag for fans, but it may not all be a joke to Holland. In the past, the actor has said he is interested in taking on Batman. During a chat with Interview Magazine, Holland said he wants in on both James Bond and Batman.
