For Marvel fans, they’ll remember Jones as Luke Cage‘s final musical act. To close out the season finale, the Grammy-nominated soul singer, along with her band the Dap-Kings, performed “100 Days, 100 Nights” in Harlem’s Paradise.

During Jones’s perfomance, Theo Rossi’s Shades and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight appear in the nightclub as well, but separately. He’s getting his lower-lip nibbled on by Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard), who is now positioned to become the evil Queen of the neighborhood. Misty enters the establishment wearing a red dress and her hair is in a huge Afro โ€” perfectly capturing the look of her comic book counterpart โ€” and listens to Jones’s beautiful voice, as she glares up at Shades and Mariah.

And since Missick and Rossi spent time with Jones on the set, they each paid tribute to her.

“I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Sharon Jones while filming the season finale of Marvel’s Luke Cage,” Missick tweeted. “There were so many things about this woman that inspired me: she had found huge success later in life (which for me was a testament that things happen in God’s time); she was a cancer survivor; and she had the most warm, down to earth, jubilant spirit. She felt just as blessed to be there as we were honored to have her. And although for only a brief moment in her life and mine, I feel thankful that our paths were able to cross.”

Rossi tweeted: “So honored that I was able to spend some time with the absolutely Beautiful soul Sharon Jones on set of our Luke Cage.”

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Luke Cage stars Mike Colter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones, The Good Wife) as the charismatic lead character, Mahershala Ali (House of Cards) as the villainous Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard (12 Years a Slave, Annabelle) local Harlem politician Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick (Ray Donovan) as Harlem police detective Misty Knight, Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy, Bad Hurt) as the ruthless criminal Shades, Frank Whaley (Ray Donovan, Pulp Fiction) as hard-nosed NYPD detective Rafael Scarfe, Rosario Dawson reprising her Marvel’s Daredevil role as nurse Claire Temple, and Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman, Moon Over Parador) as Claire Temple’s mother, Soledad Temple.
