When Thanos said, “Fine, I’ll do it myself,” in the Avengers: Age of Ultron mid-credits scene, what the Mad Titan really meant to say was: “I’m going to go gather together a group of lethal aliens and have them amass the Infinity Stones for my sweet, sexy gauntlet.” Well… something like that.

In the comics, that group was known as The Black Order (a.k.a. the Cull Obsidian), and it consisted of Proxima Midnight, Supergiant, Ebony Maw, Black Dwarf, and Corvus Glaive. Okay, but how do we know they are in the film? We don’t know for sure yet, but there is evidence suggesting they are.

First, based on comments Avengers: Infinity War motion-capture actor Terry Notary made, we know he is playing Thanos’ right-hand man and has been working alongside three other actors. Secondly, a recent set photo/video showed a motion-capture villain attacking Vision. If that’s a member of The Black Order, the evildoer is probably trying to take the Mind Stone that Ultron embedded in the middle of Vision’s forehead.

And today, while filming in Edinburgh, Scotland, Twitter user Richard Riddell snapped photos and captured video of an Infinity War motion-capture actor wielding a pike that resembles the one Corvus Glaive — Thanos’ lieutenant — in the comics.

Introduced during the Infinity event, The Black Order consists of five generals Thanos gathered from across the universe to lead his army. After razing many planets, Thanos’ attention again turned towards Earth, where upon arriving he sent one general each to a place of power in search of the Infinity Gems โ€” the Marvel Comics equivalent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Infinity Stones. What followed was a full-scale war against the planet Earth that took the combined might of practically every Avenger on the planet, the Inhumans, and other to stave off, and even then the Earth did not escape unscathed.
