A previous poster in the same style and featuring an armed and dangerous Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) dropped this time a month ago. The above poster is the second to feature Karen, who got her first motion poster around the same time. Another motion poster, depicting the iconic Punisher insignia, was released last week.
A spinoff of the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil, the clandestine series is only recently pulling back the veil: Marvel and Netflix only unveiled the release date last week after months of “censorship” and teasing. We do know that Karen and Frank will continue to develop their unlikely friendship in the series, following Karen helping Frank expose and bring down the Blacksmith (Clancy Brown) back in season 2 of Daredevil.
Karen originally wasn’t going to be included in the series, but showrunner Steve Lightfoot requested the character carry over into The Punisher because of their time spent together in Daredevil’s sophomore season, where Bernthal’s Punisher made his explosive entrance into the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Karen is one of the few people the lone anti-hero knows he can trust, and he’ll need all the allies he can get: as revealed by the official synopsis, The Punisher will catch up with the gun-toting vigilante as he “uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld.” Bernthal and Ann Woll star alongside Amber Revah, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Ben Barnes. The Punisher hits Netflix November 17.
