It sure does sound a lot like that Inhumans movie which was on the Marvel Studios release schedule just a couple of years ago has transformed into a TV series, at least for time being. Still, fans are wondering and hoping for the Royal Family to get on the big screen.
Among those fans is Vin Diesel. Diesel has long been an advocate for the Inhumans to get their own movie and he doesn’t appear to be stopping any time soon. While promoting his newly released xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, Diesel spilled his thoughts on the Inhumans coming to the big screen.
I think Marvel should neverโI don’t think Marvel should abandon their opportunity to make a film out of it. I think it could be a huge, huge saga, and if I had more time I would go over to Marvel and have that very conversation. But I think it would be a big mistake for Marvel to abandon their ambitions or their objective or their goals of making it into a film, because it would make such a cool universe.
Unfortunately, Diesel likely won’t have the time to sit down and push for an Inhumans movie any time soon. The latest xXx entry appears to have launched a franchise by its ending, with Paramount said be fast tracking the next installment, and the actor/producer is also working on another Riddick sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, and The Fate of The Furious (and at least two more films in the series).
Furthermore, the possibility of Diesel playing the Black Bolt role many fans have been hoping he would take on are also unknown. The actor already exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Groot and no core cast members in the franchise has taken on multiple roles before — though some lower tier cast members have doubled in roles slightly above featured extras.
