This Wolverine figure features a new sculpt that uses the fan-favorite black-and-tan costume that Wolverine used in the ’80s. The costume, designed by X-Men legend John Byrne, debuted in Uncanny X-Men #139 in 1980, and defined Wolverine’s look up until he swapped it out in 1991. It remains the costume that Wolverine wore for the longest continuous time.
Hasbro began revealing the new X-Men Marvel Legends assortment at New York Comic Con 2015, where the company debuted a 1990s era Rogue. At New York Toy Fair 2016, Hasbro debuted six more figures in the line: Deadpool, Cable, Jean Grey, Iceman, Havok and Kitty Pryde (with Lockheed). Collecting the entire line, including the freshly revealed Wolverine, allows collector’s to build one of the X-Men’s most fearsome foes, Professor X’s stepbrother, the Juggernaut!
Take a look at our gallery of photos taken from the floor of New York Toy Fair 2016, included below, to get a closer look at the entirety of Hasbro’s X-Men Marvel Legends Build-A-Juggernaut 6-inch figure line. The figures are expected to start rolling out to retail outlets and specialty stores beginning in July 2016.
X-Men fans have plenty more to celebrate in the meantime. Deadpool already broke box office records when it released in February, today marks the theatrical release of X-Men: Apocalypse in North America, and each day seems to bring a new rumor or piece of casting news about Hugh Jackman’s final Wolverine movie.
