While there have been numerous actors to play Batman and Superman on the big screen, there has only ever been one actor to play Wolverine. By the end of 2014, Hugh Jackman will have played Wolverine in seven different movies. Yes, we're counting his very brief cameo in X-Men: First Class. However, after X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Hugh Jackman's claw-popping days could be over. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hugh Jackman revealed that he's not committed to any more outings in the X-Men series past X-Men: Days Of Future Past. After X-Men: Days Of Future Past, could someone else be cast in the role of Wolverine? It likely depends on how well The Wolverine does at the box office. If The Wolverine bombs, Fox might very well decide to look for a new Wolverine, considering Jackman would have had two shots at launching a solo franchise. If The Wolverine is a huge success, then surely Fox will do what it takes to keep Jackman on board for more Wolverine and X-Men sequels.
