Shane Black's new film The Nice Guys is just about to hit theatres, but there are plenty of fans who are looking forward to his future project, The Predator.
The film will take place in the present day, and will look to flesh out some other aspects of the species that we have yet to really see, including who builds the ships and equipment that Predator uses. In an interview with Crave Online, the Director referenced the time frame in comparison to the other films, saying: "Well, all I can really say is it's set present day, so that kind of lets out the one where they travel to other worlds. I think that was the Robert Rodriguez one. We can maybe do some pre-lapping […] but it's set in 2018."
That means that if Arnold Schwarzenegger were to appear in the film, he would definitely be an older version. Black explains: "No, these things all happened in 1990, but now it's 25 years later. So in other words, if Arnold [Schwarzenegger]'s in it - which I'm not allowed to discuss [laughs] - he would be old Arnold."
The Predator is slated for a 2018 release.
