Ever since the 2013 debut of Pacific Rim, fans all across the pop culture spectrum have been clamoring for a sequel. But according to recent news, fans will have to wait just a little bit longer to see it.

Deadline is reporting that the release date of Pacific Rim: Uprising has been pushed back by one month. While the original release date for the film was planned for February 23rd, 2018, it will now premiere on March 23rd.

This places the film in a pretty peculiar spot, as it went from being in a ‘clear weekend’ with no other major releases, to going up against quite a few. Debuting the same weekend will be Lionsgate’s Robin Hood, while Warner Bros. much-anticipated Ready Player One will premiere a week later.

But with the film’s expansive fandom – and a performance from Star WarsJohn Boyega – its safe to assume that the film will still find its audience during that new weekend.

In the film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens / The Last Jedi star John Boyega plays Jake Pentecost – son of Idris Elba’s character from the first film. While story details are scarce, Boyega will be joined by solid cast, including the return of Dr. Newton Geiszler (Charlie Day), Dr. Hermann Gottlieb (Burn Gorman), and Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) – and new additions like Nate Lambert (Scott Eastwood).

Additional cast members include Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Levi Meaden, Adria Arjona, Rahart Adams. Karan Brar, Nick E. Tarabay, Ivanna Sakhno, Zhang Jin, Mackenyu, Shyrley Rodriguez, Wesley Wong, Lily Ji, Chen Zitong, Lan Yingying, and Qian Yongchen.
