Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. already has a renewal for a season four at ABC, but last night's early ratings were not great for the mid-season premiere. With a 1.1 in the 18-49 demographic and 3.51 million total viewers, Agents was off its Fall 2015 average of 1.43 by a significant margin.

The total viewer drop wasn't as big as the ratings drop, though, with a loss of just around 60,000 viewers; that can be easily written off as a group of people now time-shifting the show (DVR/Hulu/On-Demand), or people just not necessarily knowing the show was coming back. The new lead-in of The Real O'Neals with its equal 1.1 rating probably didn't help. Still, Agents was up against repeats on CBS, CW, and FOX, with only The Voice on network television hosting a new program.

The news isn't all bad, as ratings around television are down a bit so far in 2016. ABC's new series leading out of Agents, Of King and Prophets did a .8 with 3.32 million. CBS's Limitless held a 1.0 with 5.42 million.
