Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Skye's Parentage Revealed Next Week

Agents Phil Coulson and Melinda May will learn the identity of Skye's parents in a surprising twist on next week's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., series star Clark Gregg told TV Guide. In the magazine's weekly spoiler column, they advised fans to "Never mind Tuesday's reveal about Coulson," because "Clark Gregg says he was just as shocked to learn the truth of Skye's lineage, which Coulson and May will discover in next week's episode." "Coulson's dilemma is, how much can you decide what people get to know about their own basic truths, and if you do that, how are you different than the people that you're fighting?" Gregg said. That seems likely to be a key part of the episode, since Coulson himself just learned that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been lying to him about the nature of his return following the events of Marvel's The Avengers. The possibility has been eating at him for some time, but having it confirmed seems to have really shifted his perspective, based on what we saw in last night's preview for the new episode.
