In a recent "Mega Buzz" spoiler/teaser column over at TV Guide, they've revealed what sounds like a casting call...and it purportedly describes a Marvel Comics character coming to the second season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Here's how TV Guide described the character:

Let's play a game. I'll give you a description and you guess which Marvel character this newcomer might be. I hear they're casting for a ruggedly handsome, physically fit actor to play a character who can escape any situation, is a bit of a wild card and, though he's mostly interested in personal gain, always ends up doing the right thing.

That could certainly describe any number of superhero characters, although admittedly many of the ones that spring immediately to mind are either DC or X-Men characters for whom a stint on S.H.I.E.L.D. is likely not in the cards.
