Grant Gustin, who recently played Sebastian Smythe on Fox's Glee, has been cast as Barry Allen/The Flash on The CW's Arrow and (assuming it's eventually greenlit) the planned spinoff centering around The Flash.
"I’m unbelievably excited," Gustin told The Hollywood Reporter. "I’ve been a lifelong fan of DC Comics, so I can’t be more honored and can’t wait to get started."
"Part of the fun for the audience is to see how we view our Arrow take on the Flash legacy," series executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. "Some of it will feel very familiar to DC Comics, some of it hopefully will feel different, fresh and exciting. The same way we approached Arrow is the same way we're approaching Barry. There will be extraordinary events in the world and the characters will react in the same way."
Of course, Barry will get his costume and not be "that guy in the hood" for a whole season, at least according to previous comments from the showrunners.
