Other nominees in the Best Director category included Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty, Ang Lee for Life of Pi, Steven Spielberg for Lincoln, and Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained. The crowd gave Ben Affleck a standing ovation. In accepting the Golden Globe, Ben Affleck thanked Warner Bros, his cast, and his writer.
