In a pair of different interviews at the Toronto International Film Festival (one of which ComicBook.com discussed yesterday), Star Trek Into Darkness villain Benedict Cumberbatch seemingly denied involvement with the forthcoming Star Wars Episode VII, while leaving the window open to do the film in the future if the opportunity should arise.Having already discussed that, though, one thing seems worth mentioning–especially if you’re one of the people who still believes that Cumberbatch has an inside track on being cast in the film: he said, and then reiterated, during the two interviews that he believes the cast of the original Star Wars Trilogy will return.”No matter what anyone said or is talking about, this is the simple truth: JJ and I have worked together before, I’d love to work together again,” Cumberbatch told Access Hollywood in the video below. “There’s been no offer made and that’s that–and that is that. And that’s not why I parted company from Crimson Peak. That was…completely different reasons, not because I was jumping for another job. I genuinely don’t know; everyone else seems to know. I get texts and e-mails and congratulations and I go, ‘Well, what do you know that I don’t? Because I know the boss and he hasn’t rung.’ Nothing’s been cast in that film yet apart from, as we know, the return players from the original films.”
