With The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector's Edition set to be released on Tuesday, several clips from the bonus features are being released early online. Entertainment Weekly has a clip where Christopher Nolan and various Warner Bros. executives talk about Nolan landing the Batman directing job. "When I went in and talked to them about it, it was very open," said Nolan. "Now, that's a great opportunity particularly for a writer/director. Former Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov explained, "Chris came in and said, 'Look, this is what I want to do in the movie. This is what I want to do with it visually. This is where I think the character needs to go. I think it's going to be different than any superhero movie anybody's seen before. And what I really want to do is take that genre and embrace it as a real film genre.'" Warner Bros. President Of Production Greg Silverman added, "The pitch that Chris had was so…it was quick. It was ten or fifteen minutes. But it was so holistic, and it really was Batman Begins." Batman Begins wound up getting greenlit just from Nolan's fifteen minute original pitch.
