The Montclair Film Festival hosted in and around Montclair, NJ, has booked a couple of high-profile attendees for a "Nerd-Off." Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams and famed Lord of the Rings expert (oh, and new Late Show host) Stephen Colbert will come together not during the festival itself, but on November 21, 2015 for an interview, and yes, probably a few nerdy fights and debates.

Colbert, a Montclair resident, has had a working relationship with his hometown festival and other Montclair area initiatives for several years. This special event's tickets will benefit the 2016 edition of the late Spring festival. Colbert has previously interviewed Star Wars creator George Lucas and hosted the final Hobbit/LOTR panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2014, where he showed off his extremely high level of knowledge on the property.

The pair of super-nerds have also been super-charity supporters through Omaze.com. Colbert recently launched a charity raffle for the chance to attend his Late Show debut and ask presidential candidate Jeb Bush a question. Abrams helped the "Force for Change" campaign raise over $4.2 million for UNICEF and as a producer on the upcoming third Star Trek film, helped the "To Boldly Go" contest raise money for charity through a walk-on role in the movie.

Tickets go on sale September 11, 2015 on ticketmaster.com and njpac.org for the November conversation, sure to be a quick sell out and offer up more than a few laughs. It's notable as well that Abrams will have a significant amount of time in a public forum four weeks before the release of The Force Awakens, though his notorious tight lips will surely accompany him.
