Last week, we learned that George Lucas was planning on filming his version of Star Wars VII before selling Lucasfilm. When Disney offered him $4 BILLION for the company as well as the rights to the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises he happily turned them over.

Lucas is currently promoting his new movie Strange Magic and Cinemablend was able to ask him if he could offer any details about his Star Wars VII film. "The ones that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn't really want to do those," Lucas said. "So they made up their own. So it's not the ones that I originally wrote [on screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens]."

Lucas handed his outlines for Star War VII and beyond to Disney. Those outlines then went to screenwriter Michael Arndt who for a time worked on J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but Arndt left the project and Abrams and Lawrence Kasden took over writing duties. Slash Film reports that Arndt and Abrams had a disagreement about the focus of the film. Lucas' outline, which Arndt was working from, was focused on the younger generation. While Abrams wanted Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa to be the focus and the younger characters to be secondary.

Based on the trailer, which only showed the newcomers and none of the classic heroes, I would've never thought J.J. was going to make Luke, Han and Leia a priority. I'm glad to hear it. What do you think?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives in theaters December 18, 2015.
