DC Comics announced today that Django Unchained #1, the comic book adaptation of a pre-filming version of Quentin Tarantino's script, has sold out at Diamond Comics Distributors and will go back for a second printing. The second printing will hit store shelves on February 6, with a black-and-white variant cover by DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee, who provided the issue's original cover. Django Unchained is a six-issue miniseries bring released through DC's mature readers imprint, Vertigo. It tells the story of Django, a slave-turned-bounty hunter who, with the help of his mentor, sets out to rescue his wife from a ruthless Mississippi plantation owner. The film arrived in theaters on Christmas, while the first print of the comic book hit comic shops on December 19. The Django Unchained comic book series is drawn by R.M. Guéra with flashback sequences by Jason Latour.
