While promoting Secret in Their Eyes, Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, The Martian) was asked about his contract status with Marvel Studios as he will appear in Doctor Strange, the latest film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Obviously, the idea is that you'll be part of something that could have more incarnations, but that's sort of not the focus," Ejiofor told Vulture. "The focus is that you just want to make the film that you're making as good as you can make it. That's what I'm in engaged with at the moment. It's a really fascinating project."

Ejiofor is presumably playing power-hungry villain Baron Mordo, but the highly-acclaimed actor is still reluctant to share any details about being one of the film's antagonists. "In a strange way, I don't want to answer that question, if you don't mind," he said. "Because I feel like it's linked to things I shouldn't get into. I hope it will be interesting when we bring the film out to see what those characters are like — or what they're not like. You're gonna have to wait and see!"

Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Scott Derrickson is directing with a cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Rachel McAdams is rumored to be playing Christine Palmer, also known as Night Nurse, and Mads Mikkelsen will play an unspecified villain role.

Marvel's Dr. Strange will cast a spell on audiences November 4, 2016.
