Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Trailer

Tickets go on sale tomorrow, October 25, for a special theatrical screening of Doctor Who's fiftieth anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor. The episode will air in select U.S. theaters as part of Fathom Events's calendar. You can find out whether there is a screening planned for your local cinema here. The long-awaited episode stars former Doctor David Tennant alongside current (though outgoing) Doctor Matt Smith and John Hurt, who will play The Doctor...but we're not entirely sure how that works.

The special, which will be simulcast around the world on November 23, will be presented in RealD 3D. We're guessing the glasses look like the ones at right. Fathom is advertising "The 75-minute special in 3D plus bonus behind-the-scenes content exclusive to theaters." You can check out their official description of the episode below. NCM Fathom Events and BBC AMERICA are thrilled to celebrate 50 years of the world's longest-running Sci-Fi series Doctor Who with an explosive RealD 3D presentation of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special: The Day of the Doctor. This extraordinary one-night event will take place on Monday, November 25 at 7:30pm (local time) in select cinemas nationwide and includes behind-the-scenes bonus content exclusive to theaters! Shot in 3D, The Day of the Doctor stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman with Billie Piper and John Hurt. The action packed adventure reveals that the Doctor has a dangerous past. And he's coming back!
