Funimation Reveals One Piece Gold English Dub Cast

Next month, the new year will ring in many things, and One Piece is set to benefit from the rousing exchanging. The iconic franchise will see its new film One Piece Gold debut in American theaters come January. The movie, which hit Japan in July, will screen in theaters from January 10-17, and now fans have been told which actors will dub the project into English.

Funimation Entertainment recently announced the English dub for One Piece Gold, and it features some familiar names. Joel McDonald will act as ADR while Clint Bickham tackles the script. As for the ADR engineer, Matt Grounds nabbed the job.

This new project will be the 13th film in the long-running franchise. One Piece Gold has raked in more than $49 million overseas since its release. The film was directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto and produced by Toei Animation. It premiered in Abu Dhabi for a special event before debuting to Japanese audiences.

The film follows Monkey D. Luffy and his gang of Straw Hat Pirates during a visit to Gran Tesoro. The locale is a wealthy, independent country where well-known pirates, millionaires, and more gather to find sanctuary from the World Government. However the country's emperor finds himself overpowered by greed and ultimately takes actions to satisfy his desire for wealth, leading Luffy to fight back against the tyrant.
