Hannibal Scribe To Pen New Friday The 13th Movie

Paramount has hired Nick Antosca pen a new screenplay for their latest Friday The 13th reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Antosca is best known for his work on television series, like NBC's Hannibal, MTV's Teen Wolf and NBC's Believe.

Michael Bay, Andrew form and Brad Fuller are producing the new film. This is the second go-round for Bay's Platinum Dunes on the Jason Voorhees-led horror franchise. The company produced the 2009 Friday The 13th film which cost them $20M to make and grossed $90M.

V/H/S director David Bruckner will helm the reboot, which will "answer the decades-old question of why slasher Jason Voorhes can't be killed."

In January, Paramount pushed the release date back on the next installment of their Friday The 13th franchise. It was supposed to open in theaters November 13, 2015, but will now open May 13, 2016.
