The Jason Momoa-as-Aquaman rumors have jumped from the blogosphere to the industry trade press as the venerable and usually reliable Hollywood Reporter now claims that the deal is done.

It was THR who first reported that Game of Thrones's Momoa -- who was almost Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy -- was in talks with the producers of Warner's Man of Steel sequel/Justice League prequel back in December. Since then, rumors have been all over the place, naming him as a number of different characters including Lobo and Doomsday.

Momoa, for his part, has denied the rumors several times, including cursing out a ComicBook.com contributing writer at a convention.

Zack Snyder is directing Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is currently shooting in Michigan and slated to hit theaters May 6, 2016. The film stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Israeli supermodel Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
