The final, official trailer for Disney's John Carter hit the Internet today, less than two weeks before the movie is due in theaters nationwide.

Based on characters and stories created by Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs, John Carter has garnered great buzz from those who have seen the film, while Entertainment Weekly and many other observers have predicted a lackluster box office performance due to viewer apathy and unfamiliarity. The slow, space-opera feel conveyed by early trailers had some fans scratching their heads, unsure what to expect--but that shouldn't be a problem now, as the final trailer features more action than fans have seen yet, and it looks visually impressive. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton, famous for his contribution to the Pixar animated canon and a two-time Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature, most recently for Wall-E. It stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe, among others, and has been described by many as "Conan in space." Check back next week for new John Carter coverage every day, leading up to Friday's release and the official Comicbook.com review over the weekend.
