DC Comics has finally revealed how Lois Lane will discover Superman’s secret identity—and its poor thread count.
As part of DC’s new preview of Superman #42, in which the intrepid Daily Planet reporter finally discovers Clark Kent’s ultimate secret, the cornerstone of the current “Truth” storyline in finally revealed. After Clark defends Lois from a pack of Metropolis hooligans, his suit is left in tatters. Lois, the sharp investigator that she is, naturally identifies the exposed blue underoos underneath for what they are. Next time, Superman, spring for the high-end suits. They're worth the investment.
“She was always hard-nosed, she was always a competitor to Clark, she always had a sense of who she was, she was always really grounded and understood her mission in life,” Superman writer Gene Luen Yang told USA Today. “She was ahead of our society and that’s why people love her for it.”
Crossing over into all of Superman’s books, “Truth” sees Superman without his secret identity or super powers. While other titles such as Action Comics and Batman/Superman have explored Superman’s new status quo in the present, Superman turns the clock back to explore just how he got into this position.
