Marvel Comics has announced special marketing and promotional plans for Original Sin leading into the series debut in May. In Original Sin, Uatu the Watcher is killed and his eye stolen. The heroes of the Marvel Universe have to figure out who the killer is before all of their secrets are revealed. Marvel plans to use social media outreach, targeted web and video advertising, radio campaigns, television placements including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Declassified and other high-profile press to promote their big 2014 crossover event. Marvel is also providing retailers with exclusive launch party items, including lithographs by artist Skottie Young, variant covers, and rubber glow-in-the-dark Watcher eyeballs. Multi-page fold-out ads for Original Sin will also be seen in other Marvel Comics publications. Special in-store advertising will be available, including postcards, an in-store trailer and more. Original Sin #1 goes on-sale May 7, 2014.
