Cobie Smulders, who played Maria Hill in this summer's mega-hit Marvel's The Avengers, is not only so keen on the part that she says she'll "do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it," she's also willing and able to take the big-screen part to the small screen on Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. What separates her from Samuel L. Jackson, her onscreen boss who has also expressed an interest in playing a role in Joss Whedon's ABC drama? Well, the fact that apparently she's actually in talks with the network to make it happen. "The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother, Smulders's other major job] don't affect it," Smulders told I Am Rogue. "And I can't really say but there are definite talks about it." As opposed to Jackson, who has said a few times he's still waiting on that call from Whedon or someone at Marvel Studios to make him the voice on the other end of a phone, a la Charlie's Angels. Smulders, barring an appearance on the first season of S.H.I.E.L.D., will next be seen playing the role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, due for an April 2014 release. She says that the shooting will begin in the next few months, and that she's started to see bits of the script. "I've seen parts of it, but yeah I don't know much. This is Marvel! They don't let you know anything," Smulders said. "It's very watermarked scripts, heavily watermarked. Yeah, they don't let you know like the day of, but they are very secretive and I think they are still figuring stuff out."
