Michael Fassbender (Slow West) plays, Erik M. Lehnsherr/Magneto, the powerful mutant that can manipulate metal with his mind. With Jennifer Lawrence saying she was doneand Nicholas Hoult sounding unsure about his return, MTV wanted to know if  Fassbender if he’ll hang up his helmet and cape after X-Men: Apocalypse?

“I’m not sure,” Fassbender told MTV News. “I presume [Lawrence and Hoult] are talking about contractually. All of us signed on for a three-film deal, so we’ll just wait and see what happens after this.”

Putting the contract situation to the side, when Fassbender was asked if he would like to move forward with the character? He replied, “Always interested in moving forward.”

At least he is still interested in the role. I’m sure he would have more interest in the role as long as they assured him that he won’t wear shoulder pads. To understand that joke and to listen to Fassbender’s Magneto comments check out the video below.

X-Men: Apocalypse will open in theaters May 27, 2016
