Scream TV Series Doesn't Involve Ghost Face

According to an interview posted to GhostFace.co.uk (via Bloody Disgusting), the iconic Ghost Face will not be a part of MTV's upcoming Scream television series.

The interview was with R.J. Torbert, a representative of Fun World, the importer and manufacturer of Halloween and other seasonal items, and the rights holder to the Ghost Face design. He had this to say:

"To answer your question regarding the "Scream" TV series…

Please note, that I had been in communication with TWC regarding this and they have informed me, that as of now, and during the initial launch that Ghost Face is NOT involved in the new format. They also indicated that because of this direction, it does not mean, that Ghost Face will not be involved at a later date. So, there is still a question, to the question.

However, as of now, there is no involvement.

So, as of this moment, there are no plans for Ghost Face in the Scream television series, though MTV is leaving the door open for his use later on.

The plot for the Scream television series is said to involve a viral video that goes too far, and a troubled teen that serves as the catalyst for a series of murders.
