Spider-Man Saves Inauguration Day For Barack Obama

As reported on Comicbook.com, President-Elect Barack Obama is a comic book fan. In order to celebrate Barack Obama's upcoming presidential inauguration, Marvel Comics is releasing a special Spider-Man story. The story will be a five page bonus story in Amazing Spider-Man #583. In the story Spidey will meet President-Elect Barack Obama. The story is set to take place in Washington, D.C. on Inauguration Day. One of Spider-Man's oldest foes will try to stop the swearing in of Barak Obama as the 44th President of the United States, and it's up to Spidey to save the day. "When we heard that President-Elect Obama is a collector of Spider-Man comics, we knew that these two historic figures had to meet in our comics' Marvel Universe," said Marvel's Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. "Historic moments such as this one can be reflected in our comics because the Marvel Universe is set in the real world. A Spider-Man fan moving into the Oval Office is an event that must be commemorated in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man." The five page bonus story in Amazing Spider-Man #583 is written by Zeb Wells with art by Todd Nauck and Frank D'Armata. There will be a special variant cover by artist Phil Jimenez featuring President-Elect Barack Obama and Spider-Man. Amazing Spider-Man #583 is scheduled to hit comic book stores on January 14, 2009.
