R2-B1 bank

As San Diego Comic-Con International draws nearer, fans are being inundated almost daily with news of convention exclusives being offered by their favorite publishers and studios. This week saw a number of announcements, including two new Star Wars exclusives just announced--one from Diamond Select Toys and one from Gentle Giant Studios. Diamond announced the release of an R2-B1 vinyl bank at Comic-Con. R2-B1 is one of the astromech droids assigned to the Royal Shuttle of Naboo and tragically lost while making repairs during a battle. The 10-inch vinyl bank has a coin slot on the back for inserting change and an access door on the bottom. Sculpted in 1:4 scale, R2-B1 is in scale to DST's Yoda bank, Jawa bank, and all of their Ultimate Quarter Scale action figures. R2-D2, R2-R9 and R2-Q5 have all made their way into collectors' hands in the past. R2-B1 will be available for $23 at the Diamond Select Toys booth, #2607, as well as at various retailers around the show floor. Limited to only 1,500 pieces.

Boba Fett bust

Gentle Giant Studios has a new deluxe mini-bust of Boba Fett, fan-favorite bounty hunter rumored to have a solo movie on the way. Packaged in a tin emblazoned with the insignia of the feared Mandalorian Mercenaries, the bust features multiple interchangeable arms, allowing collectors a wide range of poses. This limited edition bust will be available only at San Diego Comic Con 2013. Each bust is hand-painted and individually numbered, and comes with a matching certificate of authenticity. Boba Fett is limited to 2,500 pieces.
