Solicitation text for products shipping in March from DC Comics was released today, and among the revelations -- and there were plenty, since so many of the original New 52 launch titles are hitting issue #50 that month -- was the cancellation of Telos, the most direct of the Convergence spinoff titles.

Jeff King, the principal writer of Convergence, took Telos, a character created for that series, on a journey into DC's reconstituted multiverse in the series, the second issue of which revealed Brainiac's former servant to be an evolved form of the Bronze Age character Arak, Son of Thunder.

"The new Telos is empowered by the events of Convergence and now free to seek his own destiny -- but be careful what you wish for because sometimes when you get to the end of that journey, what you find is not what you expect," King told when the series was first announced. "And that's what's going to happen to Telos. So there's another chapter to be revealed in the memories that we saw, that he has of his past life. Also, at a certain point, somebody's going to say to him, 'Things change when you've been away for a long time. When you come back, the people you're returning to have also changed. Are you sure what you're going to find is what you're looking for?' It's a great thing for me: it's transformation, it's family, it's journey."

Parallax, with whom Telos forms an uneasy alliance during the series, will prove a dangerous foe not only to Telos but to Hal Jordan -- the post-Flashpoint Hal Jordan -- in Green Lantern #50, also out in March.
