Who knew that red beanies could look so good in 8-Bit?

8 Bit Cinema has released their latest Nintendo-styled feature, this time focusing on Wes Anderson's Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. The short video reimagines the Bill Murray classic as a side scrolling adventure, complete with cannabis powerups, gun-totting action, and even a "playable" submarine. The video breezes through the film's plotline and highlights, giving viewers a surface (and sub-surface) level introduction to The Life Aquatic. It's certainly good for a quick laugh to push you through your Friday.

8 Bit Cinema is a Youtube Series powered by Cinefix, which reconstructs popular films as 8-Bit video games. The characters and their environments are placed in a pixelated world, complete with polyphonic tunes and scrolling narrative captions. Their past creations have included The Silence of the Lambs, The Avengers, and countless other films. Check out the full video below for the full underwater experience.
