Jaimie Alexander, last seen riding a horse into battle as Lady Sif in Thor: The Dark World has apparently sustained an injury on the set of that movie that will take her out of shooting for a short time.
It could have been much worse, though, according to Comic Book Movie, who gathered a handful of Alexander's Tweets on the matter:
- "Today I sustained a pretty horrible injury. I'm lucky I'm not paralyzed. Thank you (with all of my heart) to those who've looked after me."
- Already in recovery mode and my spirits are high. I'll be back kicking ass as Lady Sif in no time! It can only get better from here on out!
- Feeling better today! Speedy recovery taking place! Off to see another specialist. A smile on my face :) Thank you for all the love! XO
- Received great news today! Meds are kicking in. Awesome funny nurses here at the hospital. Physio tomorrow. All good. #HappySif #Thankful
According to CBM, speculation online is revolving around Alexander having an accident on the horse, likely falling or being thrown during an action sequence, although no official announcement has yet been made as to the nature or extent of her injuries or when she may return to work.
More details, as they're made available, will likely go public via her Twitter account.
This is the second on-set injury to a Marvel Studios performer in less than three months; Robert Downey, Jr. injured his ankle on the set of Iron Man 3 back in August and filming had to shut down briefly while he recovered.
