At the Empire Awards this weekend, reporters were on hand to grill Tom Hiddleston about the future of Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Beyond Thor: The Dark World, Hiddleston had previously stated that he had no idea what his character's future looked like...but now he apparently might, though he can't say anything to the rest of us. Two different on-site observers confirmed that Hiddleston admitted to having spoken with Marvel's The Avengers filmmaker Joss Whedon about the potential for Loki to return for the sequel, with one of the two adding that while the conversation has been had, Hiddleston didn't report the results of the discussion back to reporters. CBM quotes both Nomia Iqbal for BBC Newsbeat and The BBC's Al Moloney on the matter, with Moloney later adding via Twitter that Hiddleston says he "honestly has no idea what happens in [Avengers 2]" but everyone needs to give Joss space to write it. He clarified that Hiddleston talked to Whedon about the future of the Marvel films and Avengers 2 in general, not about Loki in particular.
