The best Spider-Man and The Punisher team-up ever!

Back in 2015, when the medieval action thriller Pilgrimage was being filmed, co-stars Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland were both in contention for separate Marvel roles. During their down time, they took advantage of the happy coincidence by working together on their audition tapes.

"We were making tapes from Ireland in the process of getting him cast in Spider-Man and then he and I made a tape for The Punisher," Bernthal told the New York Daily News. "We were constantly making tapes for Marvel — just acting together."

"These tapes definitely do exist," he added, "you can call Marvel and ask for it, but that's like breaking into Fort Knox."

Those tapes must be something special as both actors landed the roles they were pursuing. We'll see Bernthal as The Punisher (Frank Castle) later this month when Netflix releases the upcoming season of Daredevil, and on Thursday, we got our first look at Holland's Spider-Man in the latest Captain America: Civil War trailer.

In Captain America: Civil War, governments around the world hold Earth's Mightiest Heroes accountable for their actions, despite the amount of lives they've saved. Heroes divide as Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) butt heads, and fists, while fighting for what they believe in! Catch a glimpse of the action in front of and behind the camera above.

Captain America: Civil War will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2016.
